This Privacy Policy explains how Audio Converter - Video to MP3 ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the mobile application and related services.
What information we collect
1. Information you provide
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you contact support (for example, an email address and message) or when you choose to share an output file using your device's share sheet.
2. Automatic and usage information
We use Firebase Analytics to collect non-identifying usage information, such as events related to app usage (for example: when a video is selected, a conversion completes, format chosen, trims used, and basic screen views). Firebase Analytics may collect device identifiers and other technical data as described by Google's privacy policy. We use this data to improve the app, understand feature usage, and diagnose issues.
3. Files and content
Your videos and converted audio files remain on your device and are processed locally using FFmpeg (FFmpeg Kit). We do not upload your videos or converted audio to our servers as part of normal operation. If you explicitly choose to share a file (for example using the share button), that action uses third-party apps on your device and is outside the scope of this policy.
Why we collect data
We collect and use data to provide and improve the service, to troubleshoot and fix bugs, to analyse usage patterns, and to send important information related to the app (if you contact us). Usage analytics help us prioritize features and improve reliability.
Third-party services
We rely on a small set of third-party libraries and services, for example:
- Firebase Analytics (Google) — for usage analytics. See Google Privacy & Terms.
- FFmpeg Kit — local media processing library used inside the app; it runs on-device and does not transmit your media to us.
Permissions
The app requests the following permissions to operate:
- Storage / Files — to read video files you select and to save the converted audio file to your device.
Data retention and security
Analytics data collected via Firebase will be retained according to Firebase's policies. We take reasonable technical measures to protect data stored on your device and any analytics transmitted to third parties, but no system can be 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security of data.
Your choices
- You can choose not to provide personal information when contacting support (though this may limit our ability to assist).
- To opt out of analytics collection, you may disable analytics at the device level or contact us and request that we disable analytics collection for your account (subject to verification).
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
